FIELD: magnetic fields.
SUBSTANCE: method for creating magnetic fields used in physical experiments. The method involves irradiating a homogeneous spherical dielectric particle made of a transparent material and with a meso-sized diameter with monochromatic radiation, excitation of high-order super-resonant Mie modes in the particle and the formation of hot spots around the poles of the spherical particle along the direction of radiation propagation, and for this purpose a two-layer meso-sized dielectric particle with the refractive index of the core material exceeds the refractive index of the shell material by at least 1.6 times, and the refractive index of the shell material exceeds the refractive index of the environment, with the simultaneous formation of hot spots around the poles of the core and shell of the spherical particle along the direction of radiation propagation with maximum levels of electrical intensity and magnetic fields.
EFFECT: creation of strong magnetic fields in meso-sized dielectric two-layer particles.
