SUBSTANCE: method for measuring the bearing capacity of bulk soils is that a sample of the material under study is affected by a single impact force of an indenter with known properties and the impact time is measured, the calculation of the elastic modulus is performed using a calculated elastic-viscous model with a nonlinear elastic element using experimentally found values of the impact time, is given the preliminary value of the stiffness coefficient of the nonlinear elastic element of the calculated elastic-viscous model, the system sample of the material under study - indenter at the stage of contact of the indenter with the sample of the material under study is replaced by the calculated elastic-viscous model with a nonlinear elastic element, and differs in that a cylindrical indenter with an elastic element located on top is installed on the sample of the material under study, which is affected by a freely falling impactor, while the rigidity of the linear elastic element, the masses of the impactor and indenter, and the maximum value of the stiffness coefficient of the material under study are selected from the condition: where k1 is the rigidity of the elastic element; m1 is the mass of the impactor; m2 is the mass of the indenter; k2 is the maximum value of the coefficient of rigidity of the material under study; the indenter acceleration is measured in time, the values of the stiffness and viscosity coefficients of the test material are found, at which the dependence of the indenter acceleration on the time of the elastic-viscous model coincides with the measurements, and the required modulus of elasticity of the test material of the sample is judged by the numerical values of the stiffness coefficient and the viscosity coefficient of the test material.
EFFECT: determining the bearing capacity of bulk soils for quality control of work on tamping, straightening and dynamic stabilization of the track during overhaul and in the overhaul period.
