FIELD: evaporator devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to evaporator devices that estimate, measure and/or predict the amount of steam and/or material released by the evaporator. A method for determining the dose of vaporized material when using a vaporizer over a period of time. The time period contains a plurality of consecutive time intervals. The evaporation device includes a heater controller, a heater, a source of vaporized material, and a dose prediction unit. The method comprises the steps of: supplying the heater controller with power to the heater to vaporize the vaporized material during a time interval; transmitting the amount of power supplied by the heater controller to the heater in each of a plurality of consecutive time intervals from the heater controller to the dose prediction unit; calculate, for each of a plurality of successive time intervals, in the dose prediction unit, a partial dose, wherein the partial dose is calculated based on the subtraction from the first constant multiplied by the power supplied by the heater controller to the heater to vaporize the volatilized material during the partial dose time interval, the second constant , multiplied by the temperature of the vaporized material vaporized during the partial dose time interval, and a third constant multiplied by the temperature of the vaporized material vaporized before the partial dose time interval; summing the calculated partial doses in a dose prediction block to determine the total dose delivered over a period of time; and provide feedback based on the total dose to modify the operation of the evaporation device.
EFFECT: providing an accurate measurement of the mass and/or volume of the material delivered during evaporation.
