FIELD: catalytic cracking.

SUBSTANCE: method of catalytic cracking is described to produce light olefins comprising the step of contacting the cracking feedstock with a catalytic cracking catalyst in the presence of a radical initiator to carry out the reaction under catalytic cracking conditions to obtain a product containing light olefins, wherein the radical initiator contains a dendritic polymer and/or a hyperbranched polymer, and the catalytic cracking catalyst contains an acidic a zeolite catalyst, and the cracking feedstock is selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbons containing 4 to 14 carbon atoms, naphtha, light cycle oil, vacuum gas oil, vacuum distillation oil residue, and any combination thereof. Described is a catalytic system for producing light olefins by catalytic cracking reactions containing a radical initiator and a catalytic cracking catalyst, wherein the radical initiator contains a dendritic polymer and/or a hyperbranched polymer, and the catalytic cracking catalyst contains an acid zeolite catalyst and preferably is a catalytic cracking catalyst, containing zeolite Y and/or configuration-selective zeolite; wherein the ratio of the total weight of the dendritic polymer and the hyperbranched polymer contained in the radical initiator to the weight of the catalytic cracking catalyst is greater than about 0.00001:20, preferably about (0.00001-0.01):(1-20), more preferably about (0.0001-0.005):(1-20).
