FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: power supply unit for a powerful ohmic-inductive load corresponding to an electric furnace contains a transformer, rectifiers, DC voltage and current to AC voltage and current converters, a control unit. At the same time, the control unit is equipped with control devices configured to regulate the frequency of the supply voltage and supply current regardless of the frequency of the power supply network and to regulate the reactance of the power supply unit, while each converter contains a capacitor bank connected directly to the power circuit during operation, power semiconductors connected to the capacitor bank and configured to selectively turn on and off to generate a sinusoidal current wave at the output, a heat sink on which power semiconductors are installed and which is configured to dissipate the heat generated by them, and a housing, in which at least a capacitor bank, a heat sink and power semiconductors are enclosed, and the heat sink and/or capacitors are at least partially insulated with respect to the housing and the grounding connected to the housing.
EFFECT: limiting the parasitic capacitances and, consequently, the parasitic current that they generate to the ground.
