METHOD OF TREATMENT OF CORNEAL GRAFT DEFECTS WITH DELAYED EPITHELIALIZATION USING SCLERAL CONTACT LENSES Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61F9/00 A61K35/16 A61P27/02 G02C7/04

Abstract RU 2801489 C1

FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to treat corneal graft defects with delayed epithelialization using scleral contact lenses. A gas-permeable scleral contact lens (SCL) is used, which is filled with platelet-rich plasma before being placed on the eye. After the installation of the SCL, the patient is instilled into the conjunctival cavity with pre-obtained autologous conditioned plasma and platelet-rich plasma every 2 hours, except during the sleep. The patient wears SCL according to the developed regimen: for 2–3 hours during the 1st day; for 3–4 hours during the 2nd day; for 4–5 hours during the 3rd day; for 5–7 hours during the 4th day; for 7–9 hours during the 5th day; for 9–12 hours during the 6th day; for 12–16 hours during the 7th and subsequent days until complete epithelialization of corneal defects.

EFFECT: reduced terms of corneal graft epithelium regeneration, accelerated recovery, prevention of recurrence and progression of corneal graft epithelium defects by creating a multilayer autologous protective film on the corneal graft surface and introducing adhesive molecules, growth factors, dissolved fibrin and cytokines and creating a reservoir ophthalmic therapeutic system.
