FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention is based on the electrophysical effect on the material being processed by an electrical variable frequency modulated signal (EVFMS) in the process of liquid metal crystallization. The electrophysical effect on the material being processed begins even in the liquid phase, at the melt stage, which has a positive effect on structure formation in the alloy during crystallization - a more uniform distribution of the eutectoid in the grain body occurs, the total amount of the coarse eutectoid component decreases, and the average size of the excess components also decreases.
EFFECT: due to the effect of EVFMS on the metal melt, the effect of static electricity that occurs at the moment of crystallization of the alloy is reduced, which leads to an increase in its microhardness, for example, for tretnik, the increase in microhardness was 29% relative to the original sample, and for steel grade U8 - 12%.
