FIELD: obtaining oil and gas from wells.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil and gas industry, namely to methods of controlling operation of an electric variable frequency drive (VFD) of a submersible pump. Technical result is provided due to additional equipment of wellhead with mass meter for measurement of instantaneous amount of well fluid lifted from well by pump, and the control unit at the output is a voltmeter, an ammeter and a frequency meter, to determine the input parameters of the VFD, at that, before starting the pump into continuous operation mode or periodically after stopping the VFD operation, the database is filled or adjusted, respectively, for this purpose, taking into account the nominal threshold data of the VFD, determining the optimal voltage according to the principle of minimum sufficiency and the optimum frequency of the VFD operation based on the highest pump efficiency determined by the mass meter, after pump start-up, control unit corrects voltage and frequency obtained from memory unit data base to obtain required pump capacity.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of operation of VFD at reduction of electric current consumption.
