FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of metal coils with the prevention of their shape change. The metal coil is periodically rotated forward around its longitudinal axis in the first direction of rotation, and then rotated back in the second opposite direction of rotation or further rotated in the first direction of rotation. Forward rotation in the first direction of rotation occurs against the direction of winding of the metal roll. The forward and/or reverse and/or further rotation of the metal coil takes place in such a way that the metal coil does not rotate over the beginning of the coil at the outer perimeter of the metal coil. There is a pause between forward rotation and subsequent reverse rotation of the metal coil, or between forward rotation and subsequent further rotation of the metal coil.
EFFECT: compression or ovalization is prevented for the newly wound coils.
