FIELD: metal forming.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of shells of complex shape from steel and aluminium alloys. The billet with a cylindrical section is mounted on a mandrel with cylindrical and profiled sections. In one or more passes, a profile section is formed by moving the rollers along different trajectories with their axial feed. Rollers with a working surface having front and rear surfaces with a profile in the form of an arc of a circle are used. The radius of the circular arc of the profile of the front surface exceeds the radius of the arc of the circle of the rear surface. The rollers are installed with offsets in the axial and radial directions, decreasing in the direction opposite to their axial feed. An anti-friction fluorine-containing coating is applied to the working surfaces of the rollers and mandrel. A lubricant is used in the form of a fluorine-containing surface-active lubricating emulsion based on industrial oil.

EFFECT: shells with high dimensional accuracy and surface quality are obtained, as well as an increase in the wear resistance of rollers and mandrel.
