FIELD: pipeline transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the repair of a section of a steel pipeline with wall corrosion using a steel repair sleeve. The method includes the use of a steel sleeve and ensuring the strength of the pipeline by making sufficient wall thickness of the sleeve. According to the invention, the strength of the pipeline is provided by determining the wall thickness of the coupling according to the calculation formula δ1=δ 2-δ k, where respectively δ1 is the wall thickness of the coupling; δ2 is the wall thickness of the repaired pipeline in the area without corrosion; δk is the thickness of the pipeline wall in the area of corrosion. The stresses in the wall of the pipeline and the coupling are determined in the corrosion sections and in the wall along the edges of the coupling, the safety margins are calculated according to the mathematical expressions given in the formula.
EFFECT: increased strength of the pipeline section with corrosion repaired by installing a steel coupling, based on achieving a minimum stress in the walls of the pipeline and the coupling by adopting a coupling with an optimal wall thickness.
