FIELD: freight rail transportation.

SUBSTANCE: methods for placing and securing metal ingots for transportation in railway gondola cars, in particular - dimensional flat aluminum ingots both in packaging and without packaging. The method for placing and fixing metal ingots (1) in a railway gondola car is characterized by stacking along the railway gondola car metal ingots (1) on transverse linings (3) and transversely tightening each stack of metal ingots with textile fasteners (2) to form a cargo unit. Each textile fastening (2) is made of textile tape and consists of a lower and upper part. The lower part of the textile fastener is placed under the stack between the transverse linings, and the upper part of the textile fastener is placed on top of the stack and connected to each other by means of fixing elements. Then, metal ingots of the lower tier are fixed in the railway gondola car by installing wooden means of fastening on the floor of the railway gondola car, after which, using a tensioner, all textile fasteners installed on the stack or stacks are alternately tightened with fixation of textile tapes in the fixing elements, combining and fastening the ingots of each stacks in one cargo unit.

EFFECT: simplifying the process of fixing metal, in particular aluminum ingots, significantly reducing the used wooden props and reducing the material costs of the consignor during loading.
