FIELD: aerosol generation.
SUBSTANCE: method for manufacture of an aerosol-generating item. The aerosol-generating item designed to generate an aerosol comprises a fluid guide to allow movement of the fluid, a tubular element, at least one opening, a combustible heat source, and a cavity. The fluid guide has a proximal end and a distal end. The fluid guide has an internal longitudinal section. The internal longitudinal section includes an internal longitudinal passage between the distal end and the proximal end of the guide, whereby the fluid can move from the distal end of the fluid guide to the proximal end of the fluid guide. The fluid guide further comprises a baffle between the inner longitudinal passage and the outer longitudinal passage. The tubular element contains a gel, or a gel-filled porous medium, or a gel-filled thread, or any combination thereof. The gel, or the gel-filled porous medium, or the gel-filled thread, or any combination thereof, contains the active agent. The tubular element has a proximal end and a distal end. The tubular element is located near the distal side of the fluid guide in the aerosol-generating item. At least one opening allows fluid to pass to the tubular element and exit from the aerosol-generating item at the proximal end. The combustible heat source is located at the distal end of the aerosol-generating item. The cavity is located between the fluid guide and the tubular element to allow mixing and contact of the fluid with the tubular element.
EFFECT: prevention of leakage of the gel and its contents while ensuring the desired retraction of the aerosol.
