FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to hookah devices and, more specifically, to hookah devices, which heat aerosol forming substrate without burning substrate, and which improve characteristics of generated aerosol, using a ventilation hole along an aerosol tube. Hookah device (10) contains aerosol generating element (11) for accommodation of aerosol forming substrate (12). The hookah device also contains vessel (17) located at a distance from the aerosol generating element and defining an inner part for accommodation of a volume of liquid. The vessel contains outlet element (15) of a free space. The hookah device also contains aerosol tube (21) located between the aerosol generating element and the inner part of the vessel. The aerosol tube contains a near end part defining near hole (24) located for reception of an air flow from the aerosol generating element, a far end part defining far hole (26) located in the inner part of the vessel, and ventilation hole (30) located between near and far end parts. The ratio between the total area of the ventilation hole and the cross-sectional area of the aerosol tube located near the ventilation hole is no more than 1:1000. The application of negative pressure to the outlet element of the free space causes an air flow through the aerosol tube from the near hole to the far hole and causes an air flow through the aerosol tube from the ventilation hole to the far hole.

EFFECT: use of a hookah device may allow for increase in the minimum diameter of a nozzle hole, which may contribute to obtaining a lower value of resistance to drag (RTD) compared to a hookah device without a ventilation hole; as a result, hookah devices can produce significantly more visible aerosol, deliver significantly more total aerosol mass (hereinafter – TAM), or produce significantly more visible aerosol and deliver significantly more TAM than similar hookah devices without a ventilation hole; users of such devices may have sensations more similar to those of a traditional hookah device, but without burning of charcoal byproducts.
