FIELD: smoking articles.
SUBSTANCE: smoking article contains a tobacco rod, a filter and a rim material that fastens the tobacco rod to the filter. The filter comprises a plug of filter material that defines a segment of the downstream end of the smoking article, the plug being surrounded by one or more filter wraps. The hardness of the smoking article in the downstream end segment is at least about 90% and the filter material extends to the downstream end of the filter. Moreover, the ovality of the downstream end of the smoking article, after 50% deformation of this downstream end of the smoking article, is less than 25%.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to improve the overall perceived impression of the consumer.
