FIELD: tobacco industry.

SUBSTANCE: filter for a smoking product, the filter comprising a filter segment of a filtering material. The filter segment has a diameter measured perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the filter; and a flow limiter inserted into the filter segment and surrounded from all sides by the filtering material. The flow limiter is continuous, wherein the cross-sectional dimension of the flow limiter, measured perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the filter, ranges from about 60% to about 95% of the filter segment diameter, wherein the flow limiter is substantially spherical. The cross-sectional dimension of the flow limiter, measured perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the filter, is the diameter of the spherical flow limiter.

EFFECT: need to create a smoking product filter having an improved flow limiting element, simple and inexpensive to manufacture and to be inserted into the filter.
