FIELD: medicine; maxillofacial surgery.

SUBSTANCE: bipolar anti-dislocation prosthesis of the temporomandibular joint consists of a prosthesis of the articular fossa and a prosthesis of the articular process with an articular head and a guide with a rotation limiter and an insert to protect against abrasion and creaking in the joint. The articular fossa has an additional limiter in the anterior part to prevent the articular head from coming out when the mouth is opened. The articular head is polished and made with the possibility of insertion only from the front into the articular cavity, the length of the anterior part of which exceeds the amplitude of movements of the articular head in the anterior-posterior direction with the possibility of preventing the articular head from coming out of it without moving down when fixed in the anatomical position. The articular insert has a semi-closed contour, and the articular fossa has an additional limiter in the anterior part to prevent the articular head from coming out when the mouth is opened. The surfaces of the titanium parts of the prosthesis in contact with the bone are made in the form of a porous surface.

EFFECT: fixation of the articular head is achieved during lateral and axial movements of the lower jaw through the excess of the amplitude of movements of the articular head in the anterior-posterior direction and the presence of an additional limiter of movement in case of excessive opening of the patient's mouth.
