FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to dentistry and is intended for differential diagnostics of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) pathology. Measurements of bone structures of both TMJ are performed on computed tomograms in lateral projection with closed mouth. In order to measure articular tubercule drawn is perpendicular from the highest point of its apex to horizontal line, passing through tubercule base and fornix of glenoid fossa. In order to measure height of ramus of mandible straight line is drawn from the highest point of head of mandible, parallel to posterior edge of ramus, to intersection with base of lower edge of jaw near the apex of mandibular angle. In order to measure width of mandible head on straight line, drawn for measurement of ramus height, 5 mm are measured from the highest point of head of mandible, perpendicular is drawn at this level and width of mandible head is measured by said perpendicular from its anterior to its posterior border. Comparative analysis of obtained measurements with corresponding physiological parameters in norm is performed.
EFFECT: method makes it possible to increase accuracy of X-ray diagnostics of all types of dysplasia of TMJ bone structures due to application of llinear or computed tomograms of both TMJ in lateral projection and carrying out measurements of TMJ bone structures taking into account anatomical characteristics of upper and lower border of ramus of mandible.
