FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method of managing the state of charge of the battery contains the step of determining the target state of charge depending on the temperature of the battery, while in accordance with the degradation control profile, the state of charge is monitored, which tends to decrease when the temperature rises in order to control degradation of the battery, as well as the step of charging the battery until the target state of charge is reached, while the degradation control profile describes the relative increase in the internal resistance of the battery depending on the time elapsed from the beginning of the battery life at the reference state of charge and at the reference temperature, and then interactively determine the target state of charge such that at the end of the relative increase in internal resistance estimation step, the estimated relative increase tends to remain below the relative increase derived from the reference degradation profile. The device is used for lithium batteries in vehicles with an internal combustion engine.
EFFECT: increased service life of lithium batteries.
