FIELD: alkoxylates production method.
SUBSTANCE: method is carried out by causing least one monomeric reagent, which belongs to the class of alkylene oxides, and at least one starting material selected from groups of compounds containing at least one labile or active hydrogen atom to react in presence of an alkaline catalyst in at least one first reactor. The product of the first reactor is then passed to at least one second reactor for further reaction. In this case, the first reactor is equipped with the first external circulation loop containing a circulation pump and a heat exchanger. The second reactor is equipped with a second external circulation loop containing a circulation pump and a heat exchanger and has a larger volume than the first reactor. In the first reactor, the prepolymer is produced, which is then passed to the second reactor, in which the desired polymer is obtained. The second reactor has a volume that is at least four times the volume of the first reactor. In addition, at least the second reactor is a jet stirred loop reactor including at least one jet device for injecting the reaction medium and at least one monomer reactant into the second reactor. In this case, the growth ratio, defined as the final batch volume of the second reactor, divided by the minimum initial volume of the source material in the first reactor, is at least 80:1. A unit is also disclosed for carrying out the method for producing alkoxylates.
EFFECT: development of an improved method for producing alkoxylates with a high growth ratio.
