FIELD: microbiology.

SUBSTANCE: following is proposed: a strain of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus SA0077 van which has mutations in the cell wall biosynthesis genes mediating resistance to vancomycin. The specified strain is deposited in the State collection of pathogenic microorganisms and cell cultures (GKPM-Obolensk) under registration number B-9989. Also a strain of Staphylococcus aureus A van/40 is proposed, the said strain is characterized by resistance to vancomycin due to mutations in the genes of cell wall biosynthesis, and regulatory elements. The specified strain is deposited in the State collection of pathogenic microorganisms and cell cultures (GKPM-Obolensk) under registration number B-9984.

EFFECT: strains can be used as a control test culture to determine sensitivity to glycopeptide antibiotics.
