FIELD: medicine; dermatology.
SUBSTANCE: patches with ester-terminated poly(lactide-co-glycolide) microneedles with a lactide to glycolide ratio of 50:50 and a molecular weight of 7,000 to 17,000 are proposed for delivering a therapeutically active ingredient into the skin. A method for the treatment of psoriasis is proposed, the said method includes applying a patch with microneedles to the skin of a patient, applying force to the patch composition sufficient to allow the microneedles to penetrate through the stratum corneum into viable layers of the skin, and removing the adhesive backing from the patch.
EFFECT: proposed group of inventions provides improved delivery and delayed release of a therapeutically active ingredient through the use of a patch with microneedles made of a biodegradable polymer and polyvinylpyrrolidone.
