FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: enriched classes of the initial diamond-containing raw materials, such as ores and middlings, are treated with phosphor-containing emulsions containing a composition of an inorganic luminophor and an organic collector consisting of petroleum fractions, at a mass ratio of inorganic luminophor and organic collector from 1:50 to 1:10. Zinc and/or cadmium sulphide activated with copper or silver is used as an inorganic luminophor, with characteristic radiation in the range of 400-540 nm. The said luminophor is pre-crushed to a particle size of -5+0 mcm and treated in a solution of copper sulphate with a concentration of 10-4 to 10-3 mol/L and potassium butyl xanthate with a concentration of 10-5 to 10-4 mol/L. As an organic collector, a mixture of catalytic cracking heavy gas oil and diesel technical fraction is used in a mass ratio of 9:1 to 6:1. After processing the diamond-containing raw material, the excess of the luminophor-containing emulsion is separated, and the processed diamond-containing product is fed to X-ray luminescent separation using the amplitude-kinetic separation method to extract diamonds.
EFFECT: extraction of small classes of anomalously and weakly luminescent diamonds is increased due to an increase in the intensity of X-ray luminescence signal of diamonds with a luminophor-containing composition fixed on them.
