FIELD: coal processing.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is related to a method for estimating surface tension of inert components of coal, a method for estimating the surface tension of coal and a method for producing coke. A method for estimating the surface tension of inert coal components is characterized in that the first ratio expression representing the ratio between the surface tension of the inert coal components (γ100) and the value (Ro) of the physical characteristic representing the class of coal is identified in advance in form of a simple regression equation. Next, the value (Ro) of the specified physical characteristic, representing the class of coal, is measured for coal, surface tension (γ100) of inert components of which is to be evaluated, and the surface tension (γ100) of the inert components of the coal is calculated using the measured value (Ro) of the physical characteristic representing the class of the coal and said first ratio expression. At the same time, to determine the first ratio expression, the value (γ100) of the surface tension of the inert components of coal is determined for different classes of coal, by performing the following operations: for different classes of coal, samples of coal with different contents of inert components (TI) are prepared, the content of inert components (TI) in coal samples is measured, taking into account the following formula: content of inert components (vol.%) = fusinite (vol.%) + micrinite (vol.%) + (2/3) × semi-fusinite (vol.%) + mineral matter (vol.%). Then the coal samples are heated to a temperature of 350°C or above and up to 800°C or lower, the surface tension (γ) of heated samples of coal is measured. After that, based on the measured values of the content of inert components (TI) and surface tension (γ), for each class of coal, a regression line is obtained for the relationship between the content of inert components (TI) and surface tension (γ), and for each class of coal on the resulting regression line, the surface tension of inert components is determined (γ100), corresponding to 100% content of inert components: TI = 100, where TI is the content of inert components of coal, %.
EFFECT: development of an easy-to-implement method for assessing the surface tension of coal, which makes it possible to obtain high quality coke.
