FIELD: chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: method for production of microcrystalline cellulose by processing suspensions of annual plants to a finely dispersed state. The method for producing microcrystalline cellulose includes alkaline pulping of industrial hemp chaff with sodium hydroxide and sodium sulphide followed by extraction of unbleached pulp, then simultaneous bleaching of unbleached pulp with NaOCl at a liquor ratio of 1:18 and grinding in a knife unit. Passage time through the grinding zone is 2 s, and the pressure value in the inter-knife gap is maintained in the optimal range up to 0.2 MPa. This is followed by drying of bleached pulp, hydrolysis in a solution of mineral acids, and mechanical grinding to a powder.
EFFECT: reduced duration and temperature of the hydrolysis process, improved environmental friendliness.
