FIELD: explosives.

SUBSTANCE: method of defeating an area target by the group action of cluster munition submunitions consists in undermining the submunitions delivered to the area target and placed at a given distance, creating an information monitoring centre for the delivery of submunitions to the area target, each of which is equipped with a beacon that is triggered by the interaction of the submunition with the area target. After the delivery of all submunitions is recorded by the information monitoring centre, a general command is formed to detonate the submunitions. In this case, submunitions for their delivery to the area target are removed from the cluster munition at the given points of the trajectory. At the same time, the information centre additionally determines the density of distribution of submunitions over the surface of the area target, compares the existing density of distribution of submunitions with that required to hit the area target, generates a command to deliver additional submunitions if their distribution density is lower than required, forms a general command to detonate all submunitions, if the density of distribution of submunitions over the surface of an area target is equal to or higher than that required to destroy it with the required degree.

EFFECT: increased effectiveness of the damaging of multiple launch rocket systems and cluster aviation munitions.
