FIELD: defence technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to increase the effectiveness of the destructive effect of ammunition when hitting linear extended targets. The method of hitting a linear extended target with a group action of ammunition is to create an information centre (IC) for monitoring the delivery of ammunition to a linear extended target, detonating ammunition delivered to a linear extended target and placed at a given distance from each other. Attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are used as ammunition. At the command of the surveillance information centre, attack UAVs are moved to the intended area of application using a delivery vehicle. The required number of UAVs needed to hit a given section of a linear extended target is determined. After the IC has recorded the fact that all attack UAVs are hovering at a given distance from each other and the optimal height above the area of a linear extended target, a general command is generated to fire the booster engines of the submunitions. Submunitions are penetrated into a given area of a linear extended target to the optimal depth, followed by the simultaneous detonation of their warheads.

EFFECT: increased probability of hitting a given area/areas of a linear extended target.
