FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: production of iron-aluminium alloy. A method for producing an iron-aluminium alloy involves loading a charge containing iron and aluminium components into a graphite crucible, in which the charge is melted through an exothermic redox reaction. Iron scale is used as the iron-containing component, and aluminium alloys in bulk form with an active aluminium content in the charge of 22-43 wt.% are used as the aluminium-containing component.
EFFECT: reduced energy costs and reduced the duration of the process.
