FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; methods of production of iron alloys from iron- containing waste. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes preparation of mixture containing iron scale, 70 to 80 mass-%; iron-containing powder, 10 to 15 mass-% and aluminum powder, 15 to 20 mass-%. These components are mixed and mixture thus obtained is charged into crucible, after which melting is performed in burning mode by thermosynthesis at release of heat sufficient for melting the mixture of components. Iron alloy formed in reaction zone is accumulated on bottom of crucible and aluminum oxide and other admixtures go to slag. EFFECT: considerable reduction of power requirements; complete utilization of industrial waste; enhanced ecological safety; considerable reduction of duration of process.
