FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: explosion-proof housing includes a housing element that limits the internal cavity and has a housing opening that provides access to the internal cavity. In this case, the housing element has a housing flange surrounding the housing opening. In addition, the housing includes a separate frame part, which is attached to the housing element and has a peripheral rim that surrounds the housing opening and has at least one middle bridge that extends within the peripheral rim and divides the housing opening into at least two opening sections. In this case, the peripheral rim of the individual frame part rests against the housing flange so that a flame-break-safe gap is formed between the peripheral rim and the housing flange. In addition, the housing includes at least two separate covers, each, when in the closed position, adjacent to the peripheral rim and to at least one middle bridge with the formation of a flame-break-safe gap between each cover and the frame part.
EFFECT: reduced size of the housing according to the size of the opening sections and simpler work with the components of the explosion-proof housing during their installation.
