FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, namely to protective housing (10) with explosion protection of the explosion-proof enclosure type, with which at least one device is interfaced. Increased safety of the device with respect to flame breakthrough is the technical result, which is achieved by the fact that the protective housing is equipped with an elastic sealing element (32, 47), which is in an elastically deformed state, which in case of explosion inside housing closes space (26) between first sealing surface (13) and second sealing surface (14), wherein elastically deformed sealing element (32, 47) has no through gaps while protective housing (10) comprises three body parts with three sealing surfaces retained by additional elastic sealing element (47) in elastically deformed state. Thus, in case of explosion in inner cavity (23) of housing (10) the space between additional second sealing surface (45) and third sealing surface (46) is closed.
EFFECT: providing safety with respect to flame breakthrough.
