FIELD: explosion protection.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an explosion-proof device (20) with an explosion-proof housing (21) and a cooling device (43). The explosion-proof housing (21) has several outer walls (25-29) enclosing the internal cavity 22 of the housing in an explosion-proof manner relative to the environment (23). The pressure relief device (32) of the cooling device (43) has at least one pressure relief opening (33) with at least one gas-permeable, flame-safe pressure relief element (34). At least one pressure relief hole (33) penetrates at least one of the outer walls (25-29). Due to this, a gas flow path that is safe with respect to flame breakthrough is formed between the internal cavity (22) of the housing and the environment (23). In addition, the cooling device (43) has at least one radiator 44, which forms at least part (47) of the radiator wall of one of the outer walls (25, 26, 27, 28, 29) and which, as part (47) of the radiator wall of this outer wall (25, 26, 27, 28, 29) borders on the outside with the environment (23), and on the inside directly borders on the internal cavity (22) of the housing. Due to the limitation of the explosion pressure by the pressure relief device 32, a standard radiator, which is formed, for example, by an extruded profile piece, can be used to form the radiator wall part 47.
