FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: measuring the dielectric constant and dielectric loss tangent of dielectric plates. The measuring probe is made in the form of a quarter-wave resonator, which is a section of a coaxial transmission line, consisting of hollow metal cylinder 1 with internal radius R1, acting as a screen, and an internal core in the form of metal cylinder 2. One of the ends of the coaxial resonator is short-circuited 3, the second is open 4. The design contains ports for input/output of ultra-high-frequency signals 5. Inside the resonator, there is a spatially periodic structure formed by metal disks 6 with a hole in the centre, having an outer radius equal to R1 and hole radius R2 exceeding the radius of the central core. During measurement, the open end and the central core of the coaxial resonator touch the dielectric sample of plate 7, which, in a particular case, can be metallized on reverse side 8.

EFFECT: reduction in the operating frequency of the measuring probe while maintaining the same dimensions.
