FIELD: gas treatment.

SUBSTANCE: adsorption separation of gases used in the oil refining, petrochemical, and chemical industries. A method for preparing a hydrogen chloride absorbent from gas mixtures is disclosed. The method includes the stages of mixing and grinding to an average particle size of 1 micron calcium hydroxide with a high-surface powder of silicon oxide and catalytic fibrous carbon. An aqueous solution of polyethylene oxide is added to the resulting mixture and stirred until a paste is formed, and the concentration of polyethylene oxide in the aqueous solution is 2 wt.%. The resulting paste is granulated by extrusion molding, the granules are dried at a temperature of 120°C for 4 hours and calcined for 2 hours at 500°C in an atmosphere of nitrogen or argon to obtain an absorber containing a porous matrix of agglomerates of silicon oxide particles, fibrous carbon and calcium oxide.

EFFECT: obtaining an absorber with a high sorption capacity.
