FIELD: organic geochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method for studying composition of hydrocarbon fluids, namely formation fluids such as oil or gas condensate, and can be used in the oil and gas industry. A method for marking chromatographic peaks on chromatograms of hydrocarbon fluids is claimed. The method includes the step of obtaining a reference chromatogram of a hydrocarbon fluid. All peaks are then marked on the reference chromatogram, including determination of chromatographic marker peaks and peaks located between the two adjacent marker peaks and their retention indices. After this, on each chromatogram under study, each marker chromatographic peak corresponding to the marker peak on the reference chromatogram is determined sequentially from left to right. Each marker chromatographic peak of the chromatogram under study is assigned the retention index values of the corresponding marker peak on the reference chromatogram. Next, the retention index values are determined for the peaks located between the two adjacent marker peaks of the chromatogram under study, and, on this basis, all peaks in the chromatogram under study are determined. Also disclosed is a method for determining the composition of a hydrocarbon fluid from a chromatogram of a hydrocarbon fluid, a system for marking chromatographic peaks on the chromatograms of hydrocarbon fluids under study, as well as machine-readable media containing machine instructions for a method for marking chromatographic peaks and determining the composition of a hydrocarbon fluid.
EFFECT: simplified method and increased accuracy of marking chromatographic peaks on the studied chromatograms of hydrocarbon fluids, such as oil and gas condensate, relative to the reference chromatogram, while complete separation of the peaks on the reference chromatogram is not required, as well as the possibility of automating the method, which reduces the time of analysis of chromatographic data, provides the ability to simultaneously process multiple chromatograms (identify chromatographic peaks simultaneously from several dozen chromatograms) and minimizes subjective assessment of chromatographic data.
