FIELD: nuclear energy.
SUBSTANCE: method for monitoring the permeability of fuel assemblies (hereinafter FA) with a shroud tube can be applied at nuclear facilities. The method consists in FA installing in the support device, blowing FA with air, determining the air flow through it and monitoring the results obtained. Before blowing, the FA reaction to the support device is determined, then the reaction is determined during the FA blowing, by the values of the difference between the obtained reaction values, the air flow through FA, its temperature and pressure at the inlet, and the certified value of the FA internal section, the value of the coefficient of internal aerodynamic resistance is determined and it is used to determine the FA suitability.
EFFECT: reducing the volume of preliminary studies to determine the suitability of fuel assemblies for operation.
