FIELD: communications.
SUBSTANCE: method involves transmitting the values of the Hurst exponent, an estimate of the expected value and dispersion for a random amount of input data for each microflow to the reservation management server; setting on the specified server a threshold for initiating adaptation based on a change in the Hurst exponent, an estimate of the expected value and dispersion, as well as a requirement for the maximum delay; divide the flows into groups with equal values of the Hurst exponent; calculate the throughput required for reservation using a mathematical model of fractal flow aggregation for each group of flows; at all intermediate nodes monitor the amount of fullness of the input buffer and send a message about the need to re-reserve bandwidth to the reservation management server if the product of the current reserved speed and the amount of buffer usage exceeds the required maximum delay, as well as in the event of the buffer being empty; carry out re-reservation of bandwidth on the server in the event of receiving the specified signal or when the value of the Hurst exponent, the estimate of the expected value or dispersion changes by an amount exceeding a specified threshold.
EFFECT: reducing the service delay of fractal packetized traffic due to the adaptive reservation of allocated bandwidth, taking into account the fractality of the microflows involved in aggregation, and the elimination of buffer emptying and its level exceeding the maximum value, which implies a delay that does not meet the requirements for quality of service.
