METHOD FOR ERADICATION OF STAPHYLOCOCCUS EPIDERMIS BEFORE PLANNED PHACOEMULSIFICATION OF CATARACTS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61F9/00 A61K35/76 A61P31/00

Abstract RU 2804582 C1

FIELD: medicine, ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for eradication of Staphylococcus epidermidis before planned phacoemulsification of cataracts (PhEC). For 3 days before surgery, the eyelids are massaged with glass rods once a day, followed by treatment of the intramarginal edges of the upper and lower eyelids with a sterile cotton swab impregnated with staphylococcal bacteriophage.

EFFECT: invention enables drainage of the meibomian glands, additional treatment of the intramarginal edge of the eyelids and allows to achieve eradication of epidermal staphylococcus from the conjunctival cavity before PhEC, reduce the bacterial load after installation of blepharostat, ensure sterility of the moisture of the anterior chamber upon completion of the operation, thereby reducing the risks of contamination of the adnexal apparatus of intraocular structures with staphylococcal flora when performing an intervention.
