SUBSTANCE: invention relates to bacteriophage-derived antimicrobial polypeptides, and can be used in medicine for the treatment of infections caused by Gram-negative bacteria. The following is proposed: a pharmaceutical composition for growth inhibition, population reduction or destruction of at least one type of gram-negative bacteria, containing an effective amount of the isolated Chp peptide with the following SEQ ID NO: 2, or an active fragment thereof, in which the alpha helical domain is retained, or a modified Chp peptide, the amino acid sequence of which is at least 80% identical to the following SEQ ID NO: 2 and in which the alpha helical domain is retained.

EFFECT: invention provides obtaining antimicrobial agents having a broad spectrum activity against gram-negative pathogens and the ability to persist in the presence of serum.
