SUBSTANCE: invention is used as a test for the intravital assessment of iron in the muscle tissue of pigs. The method includes determining the level of activity of aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase in the blood serum of animals. Next, the iron content is calculated using the following regression equation: y = 53.7138 - 0.7794*x1 - 1.0579*x2, where y is the iron content in mg/kg, x1 is the level of ALT activity in U/l, x2 is the level of AST activity in U/l in blood serum.
EFFECT: invention causes a minimal level of stress and provides an accurate intravital assessment of iron in the muscle tissue of animals.
