FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: ophthalmic multifocal lens provides focal points for near, intermediate and far vision. The lens body provides a refractive focal point for intermediate vision. The lens body contains a diffractive grating that acts as an optical wave splitter providing a diffractive focal point for near vision and a diffractive focal point for far vision. The lens body contains a monofocal central zone extending some distance from the optical axis of the lens body and provides a focal point coinciding with one of the diffractive focal points. The diffraction grating is located from the transition point in the radial position of the lens body, where the single-focus central zone ends. At the transition point, the diffraction grating and the monofocal central zone have coinciding amplitudes. The manufacturing method comprises the steps of determining target focal points of a multifocal lens for near, intermediate and far vision, providing a light-transmitting lens body, and providing a diffraction grating. The method also contains the following additional steps: providing a refractive monofocal central zone, determining the amplitude profile H(r) of the diffraction grating based on the phase profile functionϕ (r) a diffraction grating, determining a transition point at a radial position of the lens body, and applying a monofocal center zone and a diffraction grating in accordance with the determined transition point.
EFFECT: use of this group of inventions will provide the freedom to choose three or more diffraction orders or focal points, adjust or control the relative light intensity at all target focal points, in particular, for different pupil sizes, and improve the user or patient adaptation time.
