FIELD: physics, optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine. An ophthalmic lens has an optical system with a front surface and a back surface located on an optical axis, where one of the surfaces has a profile characterised by the overlapping of a base profile and a secondary sinusoidal profile. The secondary sinusoidal profile has a continuous type of deviations of the surface from the base profile. The secondary sinusoidal profile is modulated by a cosine function.
EFFECT: use of the present invention increases depth of focus.
