FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: genetically modified host cell is proposed that produces one or more steviol glycosides and contains a heterologous nucleic acid encoding an ABC transporter. Also proposed is a method for obtaining steviol or one or more steviol glycosides, a method for obtaining Reb D and obtaining Reb M, in which the specified host cell is used.
EFFECT: increase in the production of total steviol glycoside (TSG), Reb D and Reb M.
