FIELD: structural materials.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to plywood board suitable for low temperature applications such as cryogenic applications. Plywood board (100) for use at temperatures less than minus 50°C comprises first, second and third veneer layers (110, 120, 130) containing hardwood, and the veneer layers (110, 120, 130) are attached to each other by an adhesive (200) containing resin. The resin (a) contains a polymerisable substance and a cross-linking agent, wherein (b) at least 50% by weight of the polymerisable substance is derived from lignin, (c) at least 10% of the molecules in the resin have a molecular weight greater than 10,000 Da, (d) by at least 10% of the molecules in the resin have a molecular weight of less than 1000 Da, (e) the number average molar mass of the resin is from 1000 to 1600 Da, and (f) the mass average molar mass of the resin is from 5000 to 14000 Da. The invention includes a method for manufacturing such a plywood board (100) and its use at a temperature of minus 50°C to support a container (410) containing liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) or liquefied natural gas (LNG), and application at minus 150°C to support the container containing LNG. The invention discloses a cargo storage system (CSS), such as a vessel (400), containing such a plywood board (100).

EFFECT: invention provides a plywood board that is strong and lightweight also at low temperatures and/or after being exposed to low temperatures, such as minus 50°C and below, and/or at cryogenic temperatures such as minus 150°C and below.
