FIELD: monitoring technological processes by optical means.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns a method for preparing thermoplastic materials for reuse. When implementing the method, the thermoplastic material is moved and mixed, as well as crushed and softened in the receiving hopper, spectroscopic and/or spectrometric measurements of the lumpy or particle-shaped material moving in the receiving hopper are performed and the quantitative and qualitative parameters of the specified material or changes in these parameters are determined. During measurements, the material is excited by electromagnetic radiation with light in the infrared, visible and/or UV range. The exciting electromagnetic radiation is focused to a point that lies inside the receiving hopper on the hopper wall or directly behind the hopper wall or at a maximum distance of 10 cm behind the hopper wall. In this case, electromagnetic radiation excites a volume determined by the cross-sectional area of the measuring spot in the range of 0.1-5 mm and with a penetration depth into the material of 0.3-30 microns.
EFFECT: simplifying the control method and improving the quality of the resulting product.
