The technical result is to increase the accuracy of determining the density of wood by creating conditions for the vertical position of the sample during its immersion in liquid. The technical result is achieved by the fact that before immersion in a liquid of known density, a load in the form of a metal ball is attached to the end surface of the test wood sample, equipped with a needle, which is rigidly connected to it at one end, and with the opposite sharp end is inserted into the body of the sample for its entire length, while the density is determined by the expression , where is the density of the wood sample under study, - sample immersion depth, - sample length, - liquid density, and - respectively, the volumes of the metal ball and the wood sample under study, - density of the metal ball. The use of this method will improve the accuracy of determining the density of wood by creating conditions for the vertical position of the sample while it is immersed in liquid.
