Method of determining true density of wood consists in the fact that after preparation of samples, drying and weighing them in an absolutely dry state, placing them in a vessel with liquid until they reach the saturation limit, weighing the extremely saturated samples and measuring their volume, performing subsequent repeated drying and weighing in absolutely dry state of samples and calculating true density of wood by formula where d is the true density of wood, m0 is weight of absolutely dry wood sample before placing into vessel with liquid, mmax is weight of extremely saturated wood sample, m1 is weight of absolutely dry wood after drying of extremely saturated sample, ρl is density of liquid, Vmax is the volume of the extremely saturated sample.

EFFECT: high accuracy of determining true density of wood with allowance for the weight of liquid-soluble components extracted from wood.
