FIELD: testing-
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to forestry and can be used in all fields of research or application of wood. The method consists in consecutively drying and weighing the samples in an absolutely dry state after preparing, then placing said samples in a vessel with liquid until the saturation limit thereof is reached, weighing the maximally saturated samples, measuring the volume of the samples, and calculating the true density of the wood by the formula , wherein is the true density of wood, is the mass of an absolutely dry wood sample, is the mass of the maximally saturated wood sample, is the density of the liquid, is the volume of the maximally saturated sample.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of determining the true density of wood when saturating said wood with various liquids.
