FIELD: urea and ammonium sulphate production.
SUBSTANCE: present invention is related to a method for preparing a composition based on a mixture of urea and ammonium sulphate (UAS), wherein said UAS composition contains from 1 to 40 wt.% ammonium sulphate (AS) relative to the total weight of the UAS composition, from sulfuric acid and/or ammonium bisulphate, ammonia and/or ammonium carbamate and urea. The process is carried out in a tubular reactor containing at least a reactor section in which continuous feed streams of sulfuric acid and/or ammonium bisulphate, ammonia and/or ammonium carbamate and urea are combined to produce said urea and ammonium sulphate (UAS) composition. The method includes the step of introducing a viscosity-reducing agent selected from the group of water-soluble aluminium salts into one or more of said feed streams, said viscosity-reducing agent being aluminium sulphate (AluS).
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to simplify the formation, processing and movement of suspensions or concentrated solutions of UAS, in particular to simplify the production of suspensions or concentrated solutions of UAS in a tubular reactor.
