FIELD: road construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automated units intended for the construction of highways. The unit for continuous application of graphic images on the road surface comprises a mobile frame with equipment installed on it and elements of an automatic process control system, including a control cabinet loaded with graphic image files for application on the road surface, a first stepper motor for controlling the movement of the frame installed on the steering wheel's metal structure wheels, a second stepper motor to control the movement of the carriage with a nozzle attached to it along guides fixed to the metal structure of the frame and located transversely to the longitudinal axis of the frame, a container with paint, a compressor, a pressure gauge to control the pressure of the paint flow, an electromagnetic valve for regulation of the paint flow through a nozzle, a box with batteries, a backup tank with paint, a transfer pump connecting the backup tank with the container, and an automatic control subsystem that controls the level of paint in the container containing a level sensor installed in the paint container, a sensor for the degree of contamination of the guides mounted on the body of the movable carriage, an input device connected to the sensors for converting an analogue signal into a digital one, a reprogrammable read-only memory unit (PROM) associated with the input device, and an output device for converting a digital signal into an analogue signal associated with the PROM unit and with a transfer pump. The unit additionally comprises an information support module, which is a video camera mounted in front of the metal structure of the steering wheel with a built-in video stream analysis module, which forms the boundary between the road surface and the side of the road and is connected to a control cabinet that corrects the direction of the steering wheel, and the control cabinet is additionally loaded with source route files.

EFFECT: control of the boundary between the roadway and the side of the road.
